Soccer prediction for Bayern M – Bayer L
The new season in the First Bundesliga kicks off tonight as the Bayern Munich champions meetBayer Leverkusen.
It would be unusual for Bayern Munich to start the season without Philip Lamb and Cobi Alonso, and the Bavarian pre-form may be a reflection of both. Carlo Ancelotti, however, made the necessary investments in the summer to replace these players by attracting Hamas Rodriguez, Cohen Toliso, Sebastian Rudi and Niklas Zuule, and the victory over Borussia Dortmund for the Super Cup may have triggered a new era for the Bavarians.
Bayern Munich has won 19 of its 25 Bundesliga home matches since early 2016 (19 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss) – 16 of these 19 wins have 2 or more goals. Manuel Neuer, Chames Rodriguez and Juan Bernat will miss the opening season for injury. Newcomers Niklas Zuule and Sebastian Rudi may be starting, but for Thiago, Robben and Boateng, who have recently returned to training, the title is unlikely.
Bayer Leverkusen will not take part in Europe for the first time in six years after the 12th place in the Bundesliga last season, so the team will hope for a successful championship. The Aspirins have a new senior coach, Haiko Herlich, who last led the team of Jan Regensburg (German Third League). The hopes are great that he will be able to help Leverkusen to return to the European stage, but the start of Herlix was not impressive. Leverkusen needed extra time to eliminate Karlsruhe (also from the 3rd League) in the first round of the German Cup.
Bayern Munchen are huge favorites to win this game. They have won 30 of 39 games against Leverkusen at home. They have begun with victory in eight of their last nine winnings in the title. Last year they defeated Verder with 6: 0 in their first match, so we expect the Bavarians now to score a routine success with at least two goals difference.
